Chad and Rick are working hard on creating a virtualized server to replace the old SMS server that has a hardware failure. Hopefully legacy mail services will be up and running on Saturday, May 30th. One benefit of a virtualized server is that we reduce our annual carbon footprint by 12.5 tonnes of CO2!

Send Mail Failure
We’re experiencing either a hard drive or network interface failure with our symantec mail security server. Just in the process of trying to back up the physical hard drive before we make any changes. Expect the outage to last through the rest of Friday and possibly into the weekend.

Quite a bit of spam over the weekend that people have been sending complaints in about. It is likely a new spam attack vector that our filters didn’t detect. The filter updates each day so hopefully it will subside.
