PLEASE! HELP SAVE THE BANDWIDTH!
Did you know that schools may only have a small bandwidth available to them? This is often used up all day long and split between many computers and many devices at the same time. The more computers and devices accessing the same bandwidth, the slower the internet will be for all!
WE NEED YOUR HELP – PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR USE OF BANDWIDTH DURING SCHOOL HOURS!
- Turn off streaming radio and video unless it is for educational purposes
- Download your media and podcasts after peak hours of 9am-4pm
- Don’t use P2P software (not allowed on school district machines/network!)
- Log out of constant connection web services when not using them and close your browser
- Don’t leave your browser open on a heavy flash animated website as it can constantly be downloading data
- Avoid Flash Games as they hog the pipe
Your usage affects what is available to everyone in the school. Please help keep our internet connections clear so that they can be used effectively for educational purposes! SAVE THE BANDWIDTH!
