Admittedly I have been unhappy with Apple as of late. The new OS X 10.9 Mavericks being free is one silver lining though.
We ask that users at this time do not download it for their machines as we are in the process of testing it against software. Actually we are in the process right now of installing it on a WWP laptop. Then we’ll test it against BCeSIS/Java and software. Further we want to see how we can image or deploy it without itunes accounts.
The built in speech-to-text feature in 10.8 should be in 10.9. We want to test this as it could be quite helpful to our high incidence students and students where an IEP reflects that they should have speech-to-text support.
We won’t likely be updating WWP machines from 10.6.8 to 10.9 mid-year. We may do some to support IEP students as I mentioned where it is appropriate.
I’ll keep notes in the comments of this post on what I find.
