The Technology Services department is responsible for maintenance of data systems, computers, web, libraries, and MyEducation BC. We have 10 staff working in operations including an IT Manager, District Network Administrator, Wide Area Network Specialist, Senior Local Area Network Specialist, five LANs. We also have 2 library media technicians, 1 Student Information Service facilitator (MyEducationBC/Paradigm Shift), and one clerical staff member. As well, we have an educator who works to integrate educational technology to enhance learning in the district.The Director of Instruction oversees Technology Services and is involved with a variety of projects, planning and support.
We serve a school district of approximately 6400 students with 26 sites. Our geographical range is 33,000 square kilometres that we may travel to schools with our office and shop located in Fort St John. The actual School District catchment is much larger at 90,000+ square kilometres.
